April (IMDb) is a native of Durham, North Carolina where she studied Theatre Arts at the prestigious N.C. Central University. In 1998 she moved to New York to pursue a professional acting career. Immediately, she began working at the Billie Holiday Theatre in Brooklyn, N.Y., originating roles in Mercedes, Fool’s Gold and Spirit North. In her most recent NYC stage production, Plenty of Time, April also originated the role of Christina for which she received two Audelco Award nominations for Best Actress and co-starred with her now Husband, Jay Jones. Plenty of Time was also featured at the 2005 National Black Theatre Festival in Winston Salem, N.C. In 2005 April, along with her Husband and daughter, headed to Hollywood. Since her arrival, she has been fortunate to originate roles in the stage productions A New Beginning and A Yankee Trader and has made her major motion picture debut as a lab technician in Spiderman-3 as well as her television debut on CSI: Miami and The Young and the Restless. Most recently she had a great recurring role on the CBS dramatic episodic Jericho and guest starring roles on ABC’s Lost and Grey’s Anatomy. April’s independent film credits include the award-winning Joy and Love Aquarium. She is extremely honored to add Sleeping to her list of independent film credits.
