The Company

Founded in 2004 by Doug Conant, Group Six Films is an independent motion picture production company based in Los Angeles. We aim to revolutionize independent filmmaking by implementing a cutting-edge low budget production model in the creation of studio quality pictures which focus on stories and characters that immerse the audience in an honest, inspiring human experience. We are dedicated to producing engaging cinema that entertains and enlightens.

Our most recent film, Sleeping, has done tremendously in festivals worldwide. It was awarded Best Film & Best Director at the world-renown Euroshorts Film Festival, Best Film at the LadyFilmmakers Film Festival, and Audience Choice Awards for Best Short Film at Jersey Shore, Asheville, and Soul4Reel Film Festivals. Our previous short drama, Broken, garnered much attention and praise for its delicate and honest treatment of rape/sexual assault survivors and advocates. It is currently used as a teaching and therapy tool at various crisis centers throughout the United States.

In development is an adaptation of the New York Times Notable Book of the Year, The Music Lesson, by acclaimed novelist Katharine Weber. Please check our host page for The Music Lesson for more details and story synopsis.

Broken has attracted supporters of our feature-length drama The Center of the Sun, which draws on the themes of Broken. For this project, Group Six Films is teaming with industry veteran Frank Metayer of Lief Productions. The Center of the Sun is supported by RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), the largest anti-sexual assault organization in America.
